The most effective selective drugs that have a depressing effect on weeds is the herbicide "Proponit". It is insensitive to weather conditions, which makes it possible to reduce the frequency of its use to a minimum. The high toxicity of the pesticide requires strict adherence to the instructions, the rules for the preparation of the solution, the consumption rates and safety measures.

Composition, purpose and release form of the drug "Proponit"

The basis of the herbicide "Proponit" is propisochlor, an oily liquid that can dissolve in organic oils. 1 liter of the drug accounts for 720 grams of active ingredient. Thanks to him, the synthesis of proteins and nucleic acid stops, as a result of which the root system stops its development. After cultivation, a screen is formed in the upper layer of the soil, capable of acting on new weeds a second time and destroying them at the stage of one leaf.

The herbicide "Proponit" is produced in the form of an emulsion concentrate, packaged in plastic cans with a volume of 20 liters.

Principle of operation

Proponit was created as an alternative to Acetochlor. The new substance is more effective, moisture-absorbing, and therefore, even at high humidity, it manifests its depressing effect on weeds. It is used on crops of sugar beet, corn, rapeseed, sunflower, peas. The effect of "Proponite" does not decrease even at low temperatures.

The herbicide accumulates in weeds, penetrating them through shoots and roots, and leads to death.

Consumption rate

Spraying with Proponit is carried out once a season.After it, inter-row cultivation of crops is not recommended, so as not to destroy the screen in the soil. The consumption rate of the drug is from 2 to 3 liters per hectare. The working fluid is used in the amount of 200-300 liters per hectare. If the soil contains 3% humus, the dose of the herbicide is increased.

Preparation of working solution

Immediately before spraying crops, a working solution is prepared. For this purpose, a number of sequential actions are performed:

1. Measure the required amount of "Proponite" for one filling.
2. Fill the sprayer tank to 50% of its volume with water.
3. The mother liquor is poured into the tank.
4. Mix thoroughly.
5. Add water and mix again.
6. They start spraying in compliance with all the rules and precautions.

How to use the prepared mixture

According to the instructions for use, the working solution is not used in the same way for spraying different crops:

• for soybeans, sugar beets, rapeseed - one-time treatment, before germination;
• maize - before germination or in the phase of 3-4 leaves on culture.

Herbicide safety

When using a herbicide, you must take precautions:

• persons under 18 years of age, pregnant and lactating women, patients with contraindications are not allowed to work with the drug;
• those conducting spraying are provided with protective clothing, shoes, glasses, respirators, aprons;
• smoking, drinking, eating is prohibited at the processing site;
• the dishes used to obtain the solution are washed, the water is poured into the tank, and it is removed to a warehouse in an inaccessible place;
• at the end of the work, the clothes are cleaned and placed in the warehouse;

Drug toxicity

The herbicide "Proponit" belongs to the second class of danger to humans and the third - to bees. Such preparations can be applied on an industrial scale under the supervision of plant protection specialists or trained workers.

For personal subsidiary plots, the use of herbicides is not allowed.

When processing, it is worth adhering to several rules:

• do not work near apiaries (protection zone> 2-3 km);
• apiary owners should be warned about the upcoming herbicide spraying and bee years should be limited to more than 4 hours;
• it is required to mow weeds flowering around the perimeter before working in the fields;
• spraying is carried out in the morning or evening, in calm weather, with a wind speed of less than 3 m / s;

Compatibility with other substances

To enhance the action of "Proponit" it is used in tank mixtures with other pesticides:

• "Pendimethalin";
• "Prometrin";
• "Dicamboy".

Mixing "Proponite" with alkaline chemicals is contraindicated. Before creating tank mixes, a compatibility test should be performed using small volumes of components.

After mixing, there must be no sediment, foam, lumps or incomplete dissolution.

Terms and conditions of storage of funds

The herbicide is stored in its original packaging in a special warehouse, separate from fertilizers, fodder, water and chemicals. The container must be tightly closed and have a factory label. At temperatures from -5 ⁰C to + 35 ⁰C, the herbicide can be stored for three years from the date of production.
