The plant is not demanding on the composition of the soil. For the best yield, choose a well-lit, level area. Wetlands or sands are not suitable for cultivation.Undesirable planting sites include the soil on which the nightshade family was grown and areas near the apple trees. The soil should be prepared in advance in the fall:
- Removal of residues of vegetation, roots.
- Application of fertilizers, which contain nitrogen and calcium.
- Digging up the soil to a depth of 30 centimeters.
- With excessive acidity of the soil, dolomite flour or slaked lime is added to the ground; crushed chalk, eggshells are suitable as an additive.
IMPORTANT! For fertilization, the use of fresh manure is prohibited.
Two to three weeks before landing seed potatoes should be taken out of storage and placed in a well-lit area. You can place the planting material directly on the floor or any large container at a room temperature of at least 15 degrees. Potatoes should germinate no more than 5 millimeters. You can start planting only after the earth warms up to at least 8 degrees.
It is recommended to plant the plant in rows, at a distance of 20 centimeters from each other. Planting depth 10 centimeters. Plant care consists of weeding and loosening.
Gardeners' opinion
Good day! Positive feedback from my neighbors prompted me to put Rodrigo in jail. The unpretentious variety endured the hot summer perfectly, the harvest did not suffer. The root vegetable has a delicate taste, suitable for cooking and frying. Stored for a long time and even with mechanical damage. I did not find any minuses for myself.

Good day! I want to leave positive feedback to German breeders. This summer I discovered the Rodrigo variety. Potatoes show good yields when grown in poor soil. The undemanding plant is ready to harvest in 70–80 days. Sprawling bush, about 70 centimeters high. I collected 8-10 root crops from one bush. Decent taste. I advise everyone!
