Calcium borgluconate for goats, cows and other animals is intended for the treatment of rickets, metabolic disorders, allergies, inflammation, intoxication, and a decrease in the contractility of the heart. One of the most important areas is the therapy of paresis in cows after calving. The medicine allows you to comprehensively affect the disease, while it has a minimum number of side effects and contraindications.
Description of the drug
The medicine is presented as a viscous transparent (or straw-colored) liquid for injection. The dosage in which calcium borgluconate is produced can be different and varies from 100 to 500 milliliters. The package is presented in a glass darkened bottle, which is hermetically sealed with a rubber stopper and an aluminum cap. Inside, along with the drug, there is an instruction, which contains information on dosages, the procedure for use, indications. Each bottle must contain information about the manufacturer and the expiration date of the medicine.
Alternative names of the drug are boric acid, sodium tetraborate, calcium gluconate.
The drug includes the following components:
- Calcium gluconate (basic substance). Relieves swelling, stops bleeding, compensates for the lack of calcium in the body, has a sedative effect.
- Boric acid. It has an antiseptic effect. With its help, wounds and other skin lesions are treated, and inflammation is eliminated. In this case, the substance does not provoke irritation of mucous surfaces.

Instructions for using calcium borgluconate for goats
Before injecting the drug, it must be warmed up to 35-36 degrees. Injection methods:
- intravenously (fluid is injected gradually);
- subcutaneously (it is advisable to divide the dosage into parts and inject the medicine into different places);
- intramuscularly (not recommended, as it provokes allergies).
Manipulations are performed once. If necessary, the agent is re-administered the next day in the same amount. The missed dose cannot be compensated for with a double amount - it is enough to resume therapy, and as soon as possible.
For all animals, the order of application is the same:
- The dose is calculated according to the rule: 0.5 milliliters per kilogram of weight. The maximum dosage for goats is 50-100 milliliters.
- Heating the injection liquid up to 37 degrees.
- Administration of the drug intravenously or subcutaneously.
Dosage, frequency of use in each case are determined individually and depend on the type of disease and its stage.
Contraindications and side effects
Usually, if all the rules and recommendations are followed, there are no negative consequences. An exception is individual intolerance to the substances that make up the drug. Very rarely, after using the medication, the following side effects occur:

- rashes on the skin;
- digestive problems (loose stools, nausea, vomiting).
Among the contraindications are:
- hypercalcemia;
- individual intolerance;
- diarrhea;
- increased blood clotting;
- dehydration;
- kidney dysfunction;
- a weakened state of the body after an illness or surgery.
