Description of the Axiom f1 tomato variety, its advantages and cultivation
Tomato Axioma F1 is an indeterminate hybrid that has undergone adaptation to different climatic conditions. The seeds for planting this variety are produced by the Dutch company Nunhems. They are in great demand among farmers and gardeners; they have a germination rate of slightly less than 95%. In Ukraine and Moldova, the hybrid is grown in the fields, in Russia - mainly in film greenhouses.
Description of the variety
The first fruits on tall tomato bushes ripen 2 months after pollination... Tomatoes are tied in clear and cloudy damp weather. The powerful plant has short internodes, is well ventilated, and tomatoes are not subject to sunburn, as they are protected by dense foliage. On the brushes, multi-chambered fruits ripen, characterized by:
- rounded shape;
- intense red;
- lack of veins;
- juicy pulp.
One tomato weighs from 150 to 200 g. Unlike other varieties, the hybrid does not have a green spot near the stalk. If you pay attention to the description of the Axiom F1 tomato, it is easy to notice a characteristic feature of tomatoes - the pulp and the outer part have the same uniform color.
What are the advantages of a hybrid?
The fruits of the Axioma variety have excellent taste, which is combined with high transportability. Tomatoes are stored for a long time, do not rot or dry out. Positive reviews and characteristics of the tomato helped the hybrid get into the rating of reviews among indeterminate varieties.
About 4 fruits are tied on the brushes of the plant, but since the tomatoes have a large mass, at least 22 kg of bright and juicy tomatoes are harvested from a square meter. An important advantage of the hybrid is that it does not undergo infection:
- fusarium;
- tobacco mosaic;
- verticillosis.
The variety is resistant to some types of nematodes. Important characteristics of tomato include early ripening, high adaptation to different growing zones.
Features of agricultural technology
The seeds of the hybrid are treated with a fungicide before packaging, so there is no need to soak them. Seedlings are sent to the greenhouse in early April, in mid-May - to open ground. The place for the garden is chosen after crops such as cucumbers, zucchini, dill, cabbage. You should not grow tomatoes on land where they were preceded by eggplants or potatoes.
Three seedlings 50-55 days old are placed on one square meter, 80 cm are left between the beds. There should be at least 8 or 9 leaves on the bushes, the lower ones being cut off. In order for the tomatoes to develop faster, the soil in the holes is treated with the Effect composition.
Specificity of care
Indeterminate varieties grow strongly, therefore shoots are removed from the bushes, no more than 6 brushes are left on the stem.Tomatoes are tied to supports, otherwise they will break under the weight of the fruit. In front of the vertical trellises, a wire is pulled, which it adjusts when the bush increases in size.
When growing the Axiom variety in a greenhouse, you must follow the rules:
- humidification;
- airing;
- pollination.
Water the plant every five days with warm water. In sunny weather, shake and spray each inflorescence, due to which more ovary is formed. Regular airing prevents disease. If all the requirements for the care of the crop are fulfilled, the yield of attractive and sweet fruits is ensured.
