Indeterminate tomato varieties are demanding to care for. The duration of fruit ripening is influenced not only by varietal characteristics, but also by seed preparation, well-grown seedlings, watering and feeding regimes, timely planting, and temperature conditions.

  1. Long-term varieties are grown using seedlings. With good quality greenhouses, seeds are sown earlier than usual, in the last days of February, early March.Seedlings dive with the appearance of 1-2 permanent leaves.
  2. It is important not to allow the plants to stretch out, observing the light and temperature balance. Watering should be moderate, with the obligatory subsequent loosening of the upper soil layer. Additional feeding helps the plant to form a strong stem.
  3. Plants are transplanted into a greenhouse at the age of 65-70 days, approximately May 10-15. Planting scheme 40 x 60. With single-stem cultivation, 1 sq. m you can place up to 4 bushes. It should be borne in mind that a thickened planting lengthens the fruiting period. Tomato stems are tied to supports, trellis, or attached to a garden net.
  4. If the plant is formed into one stem, then stepchildren must be removed in a timely manner. It is also customary to thin out the leaves at the bottom of the bush to the level of the first brush. If you plan to hatch two stems, leave a single shoot below the first flower brush, removing the stepsons as they grow. When the plant forms 4-6 flower brushes, pinch the growing point.
  5. Care consists of watering, weeding, loosening the soil. The lower part of the stem is spud to help form additional root mass. Top dressing is carried out every 2-3 weeks with complex preparations or compositions that take into account the individual condition of the plants.
  6. The long period of growth and ripening of the "Honey Salute" tomatoes only in the second half of August does not allow to avoid autumn frosts. To protect the fruits from possible late blight diseases, the bushes are treated with a systemic fungicide.
