Instructions for the use of the herbicide Agritox and the spectrum of action of the drug
The Austrian pesticide manufacturers Nufarm GmbH & Co. KG produce preparations that are harmless to humans, which have a detrimental effect on weeds. At the same time, farmers effectively clean the fields sown with grain crops, potatoes, peas, and flax with the latest preparations. For agricultural producers, the herbicide "Agritox" will be an assistant in obtaining crops.

Composition and form of release
Acting in aqueous solution are MCA acids belonging to the class of aryloxyalkanecarboxylic acids. It is these first-generation herbicides that can selectively kill only weeds related to annual grasses. The selectivity of dimethylamine, potassium, sodium salt is associated with the anatomical features of grain crops. Substances cannot penetrate into cultivated plants due to the thickness of the cuticle of the stem. But once they get into them, they are quickly removed without causing harm. A liter of solution contains 500 grams of MCPA substances.
The herbicide formulation is produced in cans of 10 liters.
The mechanism of action of the herbicide "Agritox"
After spraying the working fluid, all parts of the plants absorb chemicals that begin to suppress respiratory functions, stop the process of photosynthesis in weed cells. A few days after the treatment with Agritox, the leaves of the weeds wither and turn yellow, and the root system dies.
But the spectrum of action of the herbicide is selective. It does not affect cultivated plants. Only representatives of annual dicotyledonous weeds are destroyed. Less often, perennials that reproduce by root suckers lie down from the drug. Cornflowers, sow thistles, bedstraw and other weeds that infest agricultural lands die.
After cultivation, the fields remain clean until a new wave of weed growth comes.
Advantages and disadvantages of the drug
The advantages of using "Agritox" include the fact that the drug:
- destroy herbs that destroy cultural plantings especially often;
- weeds are suppressed after 5-7 days;
- protect cultural plantings for a long time;
- grain and food plants are not infected;
- the fields are completely cleared of weeds in 2-3 weeks.
It is necessary to choose the right time for processing crops so that the weeds do not begin to bloom. Then the herbicide will be ineffective against them.
Consumption rates for various plants
For 1 hectare of cultivated plantings, it should be used for:
- winter wheat, barley and oats - 1 or 1.5 liters of herbicide;
- spring wheat, oats, barley - 0.7-1 liter;
- millet - 0.7-1.2 liters;
- peas - 0.5-0.8 liters;
- mid-season and late-season potatoes - 1.2 liters;
- fiber flax - 0.8-1 liter.
To calculate the consumption of herbicide in the working solution, the average amount of liquid is 200-300 liters per hectare.
Preparation of working solution
Dilution of the liquid is carried out immediately before spraying. The tank is filled one third with clean water. Separately dilute the rate of the drug in 5 liters of water. After thorough stirring, the liquid is added to the norm and poured into the spray container. The dishes containing the herbicide should be thoroughly rinsed by pouring the residues into the tank of the treatment apparatus.
Instructions for use
The procedure for treating the field from weeds is carried out in calm, clear weather. Wherein:
- crops must have reached the tillering stage before tubing;
- potato tops reach a height of 10-15 centimeters;
- pea stalks - with 3-5 leaves;
- fiber flax with a stem of 3-10 centimeters in the "herringbone" phase.
In the dry season, the effectiveness of the herbicide decreases. This happens as a result of the slow penetration of the active substance into the weeds.
Safety in use
When working with the Agritox herbicide, you must follow the safety rules:
- During the procedure, use special clothing and devices that protect hands, mucous membranes from damage.
- After treatment, the body is washed under the shower, and the clothes are sent for decontamination.
- If drops of solution get on the skin, carefully remove it without rubbing.
- Pregnant women and nursing mothers should not be sprayed with herbicide.
- Do not process areas located close to housing, recreation sites, forest belts, pastures, water bodies.
It is possible only after 1.5 months to collect hay near the place where the preparation is sprayed or to let the cattle graze.
Toxicity and phytotoxicity of the agent
The herbicide belongs to the 3rd class of toxicity for bees, the 2nd for humans and mammals. The agent has a detrimental effect on the inhabitants of reservoirs, fish. Therefore, it is impossible to pour the remains of the solution into water bodies.
When it enters the human body, the agrochemical causes nausea, weakness, and profuse salivation. It is necessary to follow the rules for working with herbicides of this type in order to avoid dangerous consequences.
Phytoxicity in relation to cultivated plants is weak. After cultivation of agricultural land, growth retardation in potatoes and fiber flax can be noticed.
Sunflower, grapevine, beetroot, tobacco are sensitive to herbicide. It is necessary to protect the planting of these crops from the effects of the agent.
Compatibility with other drugs
The effectiveness of the herbicidal solution increases if you use Agritox with drugs that have a destructive effect on harmful insects, pathogenic microorganisms that cause plant diseases.
You can combine the drug with those herbicides based on sulfonylureas, bromoxynyls. Combine herbicide with growth stimulants, mineral fertilizers.
Do not mix Agritox with alkali-containing pesticides.
Before connecting, the preparations should be checked for compatibility so that they do not heat up and no sediment remains at the bottom of the tank.
Terms and conditions of storage
During storage of the herbicide, a special room must be prepared. It should have an air temperature within -10 in winter, +25 in summer. Canisters must not be kept open in the sun. The drug must be used within 2 years from the date of release.
Similar herbicides
Means for weed control "Kortik", "Agrokson", "Herbitoks", "Metafen" have a similar effect. In the composition of these MCPA preparations, acids, which act selectively on weeds, clean the fields with cultivated crops from continuous weeds.
