The practice of cultivation of sunflower according to the Clearfield system with the use of the herbicide Eurolighting for the destruction of weeds is increasingly being used. A powerful herbicide against all common weeds, including broomrape, which has a low susceptibility to chemicals. Composition and release form of the drug Eurolighting

The herbicide in the form of a water-soluble concentrate is produced by BASF (Germany). It is sold in 5 and 10 liter plastic containers.

Active ingredients in Eurolighting:

• imazapir (5 g / l);
• imazamox (33 g / l).

An improved product is also produced - Eurolighting Plus. The concentration of the main components is reduced in it, but auxiliary substances are added. The result is an increase in the "aggressiveness" of the impact on weeds.

The mechanism and spectrum of action of the herbicide

Once on the plant, the active substances quickly penetrate into the internal tissues, inhibit the ALS (acetolactate synthase) enzyme, which is present in plant organisms. The enzyme catalyzes the synthesis of the amino acids leucine, valine. After suppression of ALS, protein formation in tissues is interrupted, and the plant dies.

Eurolighting destroys broomrape, wheatgrass, quinoa, ragweed, other weeds and dicotyledonous species.

The Clearfield treatment is applied exclusively to sunflowers that are insensitive to the effects of imazapyr and imazamox. These are hybrid varieties - Zaklik, Tristan, Rocky, Zakhist, Brio, Neoma and others.

After using the herbicide, the soil aftereffect is noted. The remaining particles of active substances cause incorrect and insufficient development of the next cultivated plants. Therefore, a competent application of crop rotation is required.

The herbicide is diluted in a proportion of 1.2 liters of concentrate per 200-300 liters of water.

How to apply the herbicide correctly?

Processing is carried out once, by spraying. The drug works for up to 60 days. It should be sprayed on a non-rainy day, at an air temperature of 10 ° C. After a heavy rain, the procedure can be started only after 3 days.

The instructions for use indicate that processing is carried out when the emerged sunflower reaches the stage of 2-8 true leaves. The herbicide works best when used during the period of active development of weeds (for dicotyledons - stage 2-4 leaves, for cereals - stage 5).

Eurolighting is not used together with fertilizers and other plant protection products, as it becomes less effective.

• corn, beans - after 9 months;
• buckwheat, vegetables - after 1.5 years;
• rapeseed, root crops - after 2 years.

Working with a sprayer

The used spray tank must be well cleaned so that no chemical particles remain. The container is filled with clean water and left for 15 minutes. The water is poured out, the procedure is repeated.
