Instructions for the use of the herbicide Euroland, mechanism of action and consumption rates
To eliminate resistant weeds, special herbicides are produced for specific crops. These drugs include Euro-Land, a systemic herbicide developed for sunflower crops. When choosing this herbicide, it is important to take into account that sunflower hybrids must be resistant to the action of imidazolinones, so as not to harm the protected crop.

Composition and release form of Euro-Land herbicide
The drug is produced in the form of a water-soluble concentrate. Packaging - 5 liter cans.
The herbicidal action is provided by a two-component composition - imazapir (15 grams per liter) and imazamox (33 grams per liter). Both substances belong to the class of imidazolinones.
Mechanism of action
The drug has a pronounced penetrating ability - it is absorbed by the ground part and absorbed by the root system from the ground. The herbicide demonstrates both types of action - soil and systemic.
Once inside, Euro-Land enters all tissues through a conductive system and stops the production of amino acids. In weeds, the ability to divide cells is lost, growth points are suppressed. Young shoots are most sensitive to the action of the herbicide, in them the division processes stop after a few hours.
Imazapir, while remaining in the soil, also inhibits the development of new weeds from seeds. It is possible to detect the effect of the herbicide by the twisted, yellowed and deformed tops of the weeds with signs of chlorosis. In the future, the weed shrivels, dries up, dies. Weed vegetation disappears within 2-8 weeks after application of the herbicide.
Spectrum of action
The drug is intended to protect sunflower hybrids, which are not influenced by substances of the imidazolinone group.
Euro-Land is active against the main weeds of crops - cereals and dicotyledonous plants.
Pros of using
The herbicide has a number of advantages:
- the presence of both types of penetration into weeds - absorbed by the roots and enters through the ground part;
- effective against many types of broomrape that infest sunflower;
- the herbicide has a long period of activity - being in the soil does not allow new generations of weeds to germinate.
The drug does not have a negative effect on the sunflower itself, no traces of the herbicide are found in the fruits.
Consumption rates
The recommended application rate for different sunflower hybrids is 1-1.2 liters of Euro-Land per hectare of crops. When using water with a small amount of magnesium and calcium carbonates (soft) to dilute the herbicide, select the lower limit of the norm - 1 liter.
The working solution is prepared in a volume of 200-300 liters per hectare, depending on the contamination of crops and external conditions.
How to prepare a working solution?
The spray mixture is made up at designated areas away from the field. The capacity of the sprayer is half-filled with water, while the hydro-mixer is running, the drug is poured in. Wait for complete mixing and fill up with the remaining liquid (in accordance with the norm).
The solution cannot be stored, it is used completely during the day.
How to apply the ready-made mixture?
Basic rules for spraying Euro-Land:
- The most effective processing of sunflower in the stage of 2-4 leaves (no more than 8).
- Weeds should be in the early stages of the growing season - seedlings with 2-4 leaves, young, not coarse growth.
- It is important to choose suitable weather conditions - temperature - 10-22 °.
- Low and high temperatures reduce the efficiency of absorption of the substance by weeds due to inhibition of metabolic processes.
- Spraying is carried out only by ground means.
If the crops are dominated by weeds of a certain type, the recommendations for the timing of spraying are as follows:
- sow thistles - after the formation of the rosette;
- cereal species - with 1-3 leaves;
- dicotyledonous - no later than 4 leaves;
- on ambrosia - up to 2 sheets.
The use of Euro-Land imposes restrictions on the possibility of growing subsequent crops in the fields (crop rotation). Recommended terms of use of areas for different crops:
- 4 months - rye, winter wheat;
- 9 months - barley, spring rye and wheat, corn, legumes, soybeans, lupine;
- 19 months - sunflower, vegetables, sorghum, rice, potatoes;
- 26 months - rapeseed, beets.
These terms are maintained in order to rid crops of the toxic effects from the soil of undecomposed components of active substances.
Important: no re-spraying is required for any treatment result. Euro-Land is applied once a season.
Safety rules at work
All work with the herbicide (dilution, spraying) is carried out in personal protective equipment. The solution is disposed of in the prescribed manner, the clothes are carefully processed.
After working with the herbicide, wash using liquid products. In case of signs of poisoning, sorbents are taken, if necessary, the stomach is washed.
Herbicide toxicity
The drug belongs to low-hazard class 3 substances for humans and bees.
Compatibility with other drugs
The manufacturer recommends when using Euro-Land:
- Do not combine in the working solution with other herbicidal substances, including anti-grain, organophosphorus.
- Do not make up complex mixtures, including fertilizers, growth enhancers, feeding agents.
- Do not use inhibitors before and after treatment with the drug.
- Apply Euro-Land not earlier than 14 days after continuous herbicides.
Also, after spraying the product, the use of organophosphates is prohibited throughout the season.
Shelf life and storage conditions
The drug is stored in special warehouses for chemicals. In an unopened package, the product can be stored for 3 years under recommended conditions.
Similar means
The analogs of the drug include the following herbicides:
- Euro-Lightning;
- Agro-Light;
- Eurochance;
- Imquant Super;
- Captora;
- Soteira.
Euro-Lightning Plus - contains the same active ingredients in slightly altered concentrations.
The combination of imidazolinones shows high herbicidal properties.
The preparations are popular with sunflower producers.
Euro-Land is a reliable and proven remedy for combating clogging of sunflower crops.Its action lasts a long time, due to the preservation of the substance in the soil, the drug does not allow the development of a new wave of weeds, protects the culture throughout the season.
