Instructions for use and mechanism of action of the herbicide Antisap
When growing any crop, one of the problems is the appearance of weeds, which leads to a deterioration in the yield. Specialized preparations - herbicides help to fight weeds. After reading the instructions for the use of the herbicide "Antisapa", it will be possible to use the product correctly and refine the beds.
Composition, purpose and preparative form of herbicide "Antisapa"
The main active ingredient of the Antisapa herbicide is metribuzin. A package of herbicide weighing 1 kg accounts for 700 g of active ingredient. Metribuzin differs from similar drugs in the long period of exposure. The substance has the ability to penetrate through soil and foliage, remaining in the ground for a period of 3 months to a year.
A systemic herbicide designed to kill and suppress weed growth. The drug acts on annual dicotyledonous and cereal varieties of weeds that grow on beds with crops. Also, "Antisapa" acts on pests that have settled in the seed. The herbicide formulation is water-soluble granules.
Mechanism of action
Penetrating into the soil, the herbicide "Antisapa" enters the roots of the weeds, actively inhibits the growth and division of cells.
The active component of the drug leads to a violation of protein and lipid metabolism in cells, as a result of which the weed dies off.
Benefits of using
The prevalence of the herbicide "Antisapa" among gardeners is associated with a large number of advantages of its use. The list of main advantages includes:
- long term exposure to weeds and high efficiency of the drug;
- safety for humans, the environment and animals due to the absence of toxic components in the composition;
- influence on weeds through the roots after entering the soil, as well as through the stems and leaves of plants;
- killing many types of weeds, including rue, ragweed, field hawk, thistle, thistle and others.
Preparation of working solution
To prepare a working solution for spraying plants and watering the soil, it is enough to dissolve the granules in water and mix thoroughly. The specific dosage depends on what kind of crop grows in the treated bed.
As a rule, 8 to 15 g of the drug is used for 5 liters of water.
Method of application and cost rates
The herbicide "Antisapa" is used before the first shoots appear. If by the time of treatment the weed managed to grow and form a pair of leaves, then the effect of the substance will decrease. For use, the working solution is poured into a sprayer or watering can and the surface of the soil and plants is covered. The working solution can be used only on the day of preparation, since as a result of long-term storage, the properties of the substance are lost, and the effectiveness of the action against weeds is significantly reduced.
The consumption rate of the drug depends on the composition of the soil and the humus content. When processing heavy soil, you will need to apply the maximum amount of herbicide. In the case of normal soil indicators, average indicators are adhered to, and on light soil, a minimum concentration is sufficient to destroy all weeds. It is important to take into account that if the humus content in the soil does not exceed 1%, then it is not recommended to add the preparation.
Safety in use
It is possible to use the herbicide only within the temperature regime of 10-25 degrees and the wind speed of about 5 m / s. When processing, it is important to control the moisture content of the soil and, if necessary, increase the amount of water consumption. It is imperative to embed the substance into the ground to a depth of 3-5 cm. It is not allowed to carry out inter-row processing of the soil after processing. In the next season, after applying the herbicide, it is not recommended to plant beets and onions in conditions of a low humus content - up to 2%.
Despite the environmental impact and safety of the herbicide, it is better to treat the beds with protective gloves. You can use a respirator to avoid inhaling the substance. In case of contact with the skin, the area of the body should be washed with warm water and soap.
Toxicity of the agent
According to the generally accepted classification, "Antisapa" belongs to the 3rd class, which includes low-toxic substances. The period of permissible work on the beds after spraying is 3 days for mechanized work and 7 days for manual work.
Drug compatibility
The herbicide "Antisapa" is fully compatible with other varieties of drugs of similar action. To protect the plants, you can first check the compatibility of substances and make sure that there are no deviations from the norm such as:
- the appearance of lumps;
- stratification;
- foam formation;
- no sediment;
- incomplete dissolution of one of the drugs.
Terms and conditions of storage
Duration of storage of undissolved granules is 36 months from the date of manufacture. The production date can be found on the package with the drug. It is impossible to use the herbicide after the expiration date. After preparing the working solution, it must be stored for no more than a day. Otherwise, the processing efficiency will be minimal.
Substitutes
The most common drugs that can replace Antisap are Zenkor and Mistral. The preparations have a similar effect on weeds and suppress their reoccurrence after destruction. When choosing the right substance for treating the beds, it is recommended to compare the characteristics of the substitute products and choose the appropriate option that meets the specified requirements.
