Instructions for the use of herbicide Puma Super 100 and consumption rates of the drug
The purpose of highly selective herbicides is to protect emerging cereals from annual weeds. The application of the herbicide Puma Super 100 is effective during the period of maximum coverage of the area with weeds, one treatment per season is enough. The drug does not have a depressing effect on weeds that appeared in the second wave, therefore, it is important to clearly define the timing of the work.

Composition, purpose and form of release of Puma Super 100
The herbicide Puma 100 is included in the category of highly selective preparations intended for the treatment of cereal areas after germination, and is effective against many species of weed annuals. With the help of a herbicide they fight against wild oats, falaris, barnyard, foxtail, broom, bristle grass.
The active substance is fenoxaprop-P-ethyl. The composition contains an antidote - mefenpyr-diethyl. The drug is produced in the form of a concentrated emulsion, in which the active ingredient is 100 g / l, the antidote is 27 g / l.
The herbicide is sold in 5-liter canisters. The manufacturer is the German company Bayer.
How does the drug work?
The mechanism of operation of the Puma herbicide is based on the complex effects of the active substance and antidote:
- Fenoxaprop-P-ethyl, once on the surface of the plant, penetrates into the inner tissues, moves with juices in different directions. In a plant organism, as a result of a hydrolysis reaction, it turns into a free acidic compound, acts as an inhibitor of the formation of fatty acids. The result is the termination of the formation of cell membranes in plant tissues.
- Mefenpyr-diethyl - weakens the toxic effect of the active ingredient on cultivated plants. Moreover, the substance acts simultaneously as an antidote for cereals and a synergist for weeds, that is, it enhances the inhibitory effect on unwanted vegetation.
Protective period
Herbicide Puma Super is effective against weeds of annual cereals growing on the sown area at the time of treatment. But the weeds that appear in the second wave of the season do not oppress. Therefore, for maximum processing efficiency, it is important to choose the optimal period when the sown area is covered mainly with weedy annuals.
One spraying is enough so that weeds do not disturb until the end of the growing season.
With abundant cover of weeds, it is desirable to carry out individual spraying with herbicide during the period when the weeds are most susceptible to chemical attack: before tillering is complete.
Impact speed
The drug Puma Super 100 begins to act one day after it gets on the plants. The weeds are completely dead after a week or two.
Pros and cons of herbicide
The Puma herbicide is popular with farmers as it has many advantages:
- efficiency of application in different climatic conditions on any type of soil cover;
- selective action, due to the presence of an antidote in the composition;
- rapid dying off of green mass of weeds;
- protective period up to 6 weeks;
- possibility of application for ground spraying and aviation spraying;
- lack of strict processing times;
- effective against many types of weed grasses;
- lack of resistance.
Farmers do not notice any particular drawbacks when using the drug. The only caveat is the lack of impact on the second wave of weeds.
How to prepare a working mixture?
To prepare the working fluid, take 5 ml of herbicide per 10-liter bucket of water. Prepare the solution in stages:
- Combine the emulsion with a little water. Shake vigorously to obtain a homogeneous liquid.
- The tank is 1/3 filled with water. The previously made emulsion liquid is carefully, with continuous stirring, poured into the tank water.
- The resulting solution is thoroughly mixed. Add the remaining volume of water.
Before preparing the solution, you should check the operability of the sprayer, rinse the inner walls of the tank with water to remove plaque remaining from other chemicals. The working fluid is prepared in an open area, away from food storage areas, people and pets.
How to properly spray the drug?
The optimal consumption of Puma Super is 0.6-0.8 liters per hectare. When working on a rainy day, the volume is increased to 1 liter per hectare. If the herbicide Puma Gold is used, then take a concentration of 1-1.2 l / ha. The consumption of working fluid for the treatment of crops and spring and winter wheat is 150-200 l / ha. Spraying is carried out once per growing season.
The instructions for use indicate that crops that are oppressed by unfavorable climatic conditions must not be sprayed. The work is not carried out in the middle of the day in sunny weather. The best time is right after sunrise or after sunset.
Mechanized measures can be carried out on the sown area 3 days after treatment with herbicide.
Herbicide safety
The herbicide Puma Super 100 belongs to the 3rd class of toxic hazard for humans and animals - medium toxicity. For bees - class 4 - low-toxic substance. It is not prohibited to spray the chemical in the sanitary zone of reservoirs belonging to fish farms.
When preparing to work with a herbicide, you need to wear standard protective equipment:
- rubber work gloves;
- high closed shoes;
- clothes with long sleeves and legs;
- rubberized apron;
- work glasses;
- a respirator or at least a medical bandage.
Before starting work, neighbors should be warned not to let children and pets enter the territory.
Phytotoxicity
The herbicide Puma Super has no toxic effect on cultivated vegetation.
Barley is most susceptible to the drug: the edges of the leaf plates may turn pale or yellow. But the negative effect is short-lived: after 2 weeks, the leaves of the cereal turn green again.The phenomenon is observed infrequently, provoked by unfavorable climatic conditions, a decrease in air temperature on the day of processing.
Compatibility
Do not combine Puma Super with:
- herbicides based on 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid;
- Dicamba drug;
- herbicide Florasulam and its analogues;
- fluoroxypyr acid-based chemicals;
- herbicides based on bromoxynil octanoate.
If a mixture with MCPA is made, then the concentration of this chemical should not exceed 400 g per hectare.
Before preparing the tank complex, it is necessary to check whether the combined chemicals are compatible. It is undesirable to mix concentrates directly without first diluting them with water.
Storage terms and rules
Store Puma Super 100 in the canister in which it was purchased. For storage, choose a shaded place with more or less stable temperature indicators. The maximum permissible temperature values are from -5 to +50 ° C.
The shelf life of the herbicide is 2 years from the date of issue.
Existing analogues
Fenoxaprop-P-ethyl, supplemented with an antidote, contains the following herbicides:
- Irbis 100 from the Chinese manufacturer Trust Chem Co;
- Jaguar Super 100 from AFD Chemicals;
- Eraser Extra from the Russian manufacturer "August".
All of these analogs act against a wide range of weeds, are characterized by a high selective effect, and are harmless to cultivated plants..
