Instructions for the use of herbicide Titus and consumption rate
To get a good harvest, you need at least a little knowledge of agriculture. One of these aspects is competent weed control. This procedure is laborious, but without it it will not be possible to grow and harvest a good harvest. An effective assistant in this matter will be the herbicide Titus. Let's figure out how to properly use and store this tool.
Composition and form of release of herbicide Titus
Release form - water-soluble granules. The active ingredient is rimsulfuron (250 g / kg). Sold by 500 g. Helps to clear weeds from corn, potatoes and tomatoes.
The main advantage of the substance is its selective action.
Benefits of the drug
It is in great demand among farmers and summer residents, because:
- has a wide spectrum of action;
- fully replaces pre-emergence and pre-sowing herbicide treatment;
- using postemergence spraying prevents the growth of many cereal and dicotyledonous weeds;
- economical;
- it is completely absorbed by the plant in three hours, therefore, if a heavy downpour passes after treatment, it will not affect the spray efficiency in any way;
- has a flexible application scheme;
- easy to use, does not require complex storage and transportation;
- does not harm the soil;
- can be used as a component of tank mixes.
How does the remedy work
The active substance of Titus destroys the enzyme that all cereal and dicotyledonous weeds have, which leads to the arrest of their growth and early death.
Titus gradually increases activity. Since it is safe for the soil and quickly decomposes in it, new crops in the treated area can be planted after six months.
If some culture has died in a certain area, then after treatment with Titus in the same season, it can be re-planted.
Consumption rate
The consumption of the herbicide depends on the harmful plants with which it will fight.
On corn
To clear a hectare of corn from cereal weeds, you need 400-500 g of herbicide. Also, its required amount depends on the degree of overgrowth. To eliminate a small amount of weeds, 250 liters per hectare is enough; for a large amount, 450 liters will be required.
On tomatoes
To process a hectare of this crop, 200-350 liters of working solution based on Titus is enough.
On potatoes
Potatoes must be processed after hilling. A mixture of 50 g Titus + 200 ml Trend should be prepared per hectare.
Preparation of working solution
The herbicide must be diluted with water, mixed well and poured into a spray container half filled with water. After the procedure, any manipulations with cultures can be carried out only after 2 weeks.
Important! Damp plants should not be treated with titus.
Instructions for using the product
Use the drug in personal plots as follows.
Culture | Consumption | When to process |
Potatoes | Titus 5 g + Trend 20 ml for 30-40 liters of water for 10 acres | After hilling, when the crop has grown to 20 cm in height |
Tomatoes | Sowed: when 2 leaves appeared. Can be re-processed after a week and a half. Seedling: 6-10 days after planting in open ground. If necessary, you can repeat the treatment | |
Corn | When 1-7 leaves have appeared on the crop or if the weeds have grown to 15 cm. |
Violation of the instructions will negatively affect the spraying result.
Precautions
Despite the relative safety of Titus, the following rules must be observed when working with him:
- it is forbidden to use food containers;
- do not eat and drink during spraying;
- the distance between the spraying site and the nearest hive is 3 km;
- after completion of work, you need to thoroughly wash your hands with soapy water;
- animals and birds must not be allowed on the treated area;
- work should be done in a mask, gloves and a headdress.
If the working solution gets on the skin or mucous membranes, they must be thoroughly rinsed with running water. If, after spraying, the state of health has greatly deteriorated, you need to drink activated carbon. If shortness of breath develops, you need to sit in the shade for a while.
Storage conditions and periods
The herbicide is valid for 36 months. It is better to store it in a dry, dark place at a temperature of + 10-25 degrees.
Drug analogues
The most popular and effective analogue of Chitus is Tanais.
