"Mastiet Forte" is a Dutch-made medicine that is successfully used to treat small pets from udder inflammation. The instructions for the use of "Mastieta forte" for goats also say that the drug is successfully used to treat carnivores from dermatitis and otitis media, in the pathogenesis of which various pathogens are encountered. Sold in tubes, the dose is calculated for one use.
Pharmacological properties
The combined action includes anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects. The composition includes antibiotics of various spectrum of action. The drug is directed against the activity of bacteria of the genera Streptococcus, Klebsiella and Escherichia coli.
Tetracycline and neomycin in the composition of the drug penetrate the bacterial wall and inhibit protein synthesis, causing the death of the pathogen. Bacitracip disrupts the production of peptidoglycan, which is necessary for the construction of the cell wall, and prednisolone has antiallergic properties, facilitating the perception of the drug by the animal's body.
Indications
Most often "Mastiet Forte" is used for the treatment of chronic and acute mastitis in large and small ruminants, including goats. It can also be used for males in case of balanoposthitis - inflammation of the glans penis. The body of carnivores responds well to treatment with the drug for dermatitis or otitis media of bacterial etiology.
Instructions for the use of "Mastieta forte" for goats
One tube of medicine is for one application. The udder must be clean. Milk should be milked from the udder before use. The nipple is cleaned of dirt and milk residues. After that, the cap is removed from the tube and the medicine is injected into the affected quarter of the udder, carefully injecting the suspension. After removing the syringe, the nipple is clamped with fingers and gently massaged. The optimal periods between the administration of the drug are 24 hours, it is necessary to inject 3 consecutive days to complete the full course of treatment. Milk obtained during the course of treatment must not be eaten or fed to other animals.
If only part of the udder is affected, milk from the unaffected part can be fed to dogs or cats. The meat of slaughtered animals should also not be eaten, unless 3 days have passed since the end of therapy.
People who are administering the drug should not smoke, drink, or eat during the procedure. You can apply the medicine only with clean, pre-washed hands.It is advisable to check with the workers if they have an allergic reaction to one of the components of Mastieta Forte. If liquid gets on the skin or mucous membranes, immediately rinse the affected area with running water. Any allergic reaction will be the reason for contacting a medical facility.
Possible contraindications
Cannot be used for sensitive animals with individual intolerance to one or another component of the drug. Goat sensitivity data can be obtained from the medical history. It is not recommended to use the drug for dry animals in order to avoid damage to the mammary gland duct. Cleaning open wounds or ulcers with wet wipes is strictly prohibited. Overdose is extremely rare, and specific symptoms of the condition have not been identified.
Side effects
Side effects when using the drug are practically not observed. Goats tolerate the components of the drug well and recover quickly. With individual intolerance, you can notice a short-term increase in temperature, depression, refusal to feed or water. On average, after 2-3 days, the animal is fully restored, appetite and normal activity return.
Storage conditions
The drug is stored only in its official packaging, in a dark and cool place, protected from ultraviolet radiation. It is not allowed to store the medicine with food or feed. The packaging must be placed out of the reach of children or animals. A suitable temperature is 2 to 8 degrees Celsius.
Analogs
If the use of the medicine is impossible, "Mastiet" is replaced by two effective analogs - "Mastinon Forte" or "Mastomycin". The first drug contains the antibiotics gentamicin and clindamycin, which have an antibacterial effect. "Mastomycin" contains oxytetracycline and neomycin, which act on pathogenic microflora and cause the death of pathogens within 3 days from the start of therapy.
