Composition, form of release and purpose of the product
The drug is available in the form of soluble granules or powder in small packages of 25, 30, 60 or 250 grams. A large paper bag or a 10 kg plastic bottle can be purchased if needed. The main component contained in the fungicide is copper hydroxide, the amount of which is 77%. Also, the product contains a special substance, due to which the working solution adheres to the leaves and does not drain.
The mechanism of action of the fungicide
The fungicide does not penetrate the plant cells, but remains on the surface in a thin layer. It is he who does not allow fungal pathogens and bacterial pathogens to penetrate into cultivated plants and develop.
Copper, which is part of the Champion fungicide, comes into contact with the cells of fungi and bacteria, penetrates them, stops the synthesis of proteins and reacts with metals, forming chelating compounds, which provokes metabolic disturbances and death.
Advantages and disadvantages of the drug "Champion"
The Champion fungicide has established itself as an effective and high-quality agent due to a number of advantages:
- guaranteed protection of many plant species from fungal, bacterial infections in the early stages;
- the ability to use to create mixtures with other substances;
- low toxicity to insects, animals;
- positively affects the growth and development of all plants without restrictions;
- reliable protection against night frosts down to -5 degrees;
- economical consumption.
In addition to the positive qualities, the drug has significant disadvantages, which are important to consider when choosing:
- low resistance to precipitation, after heavy rain, the effect of the drug ceases and re-irrigation is required;
- not suitable for the treatment of diseases, only for preventive purposes;
- protects the culture only on the surface, the components are not able to penetrate the cells;
- the possibility of resistance is not excluded;
- it is not recommended to use the preparation for spraying aquatic plants.
Important! In the later stages of the disease, the remedy is not used, since it is designed to be used at the first signs of damage.
Consumption rate for different plants
When processing grapes and peaches, the consumption rate of the composition per 1 sq. m varies from 0.1 to 0.3 g. Tomatoes, potatoes and hops need a higher dose - from 0.2 to 0.35 g. For the prevention of apple scab, the maximum dose should be used - 0.35 g.
The consumption of the working staff is 100 liters per 1 sq. m. The time of protective action depends on precipitation, its frequency, amount.
How to prepare a working solution
You need to carefully read the instructions for the drug and adhere to the indicated dosages.
For the manufacture of a universal solution, it is recommended to dissolve 30 g of the fungicide in 10 liters of water.
Instructions for using the product
Processing should be carried out in the morning or evening hours in the absence of strong wind and rain, if the temperature does not exceed 20 degrees, and the probability of precipitation is not great.
Important! If the temperature is more than 25 degrees, spraying must be abandoned, as it can cause burns on the foliage.
The procedure is carried out with a fresh solution, the sheet plate is processed from both the upper and lower parts. The method and time of irrigation depends on the type of cultivated plant and its disease.
Culture | Disease | Processing method | Possible amount of irrigation per season |
Grapes | Mildew | The first spraying after the vine reaches 25 cm, at a temperature of over 10 degrees, subsequent spraying after the flowering process with an interval of 10 days | 4 |
Peach | Curly leaves | Carry out only once at the time of bud formation or in the fall before massive leaf fall | 1 |
Tomatoes, potatoes | Macrosporiasis, late blight | Spray the plant at intervals of 10 days | 3 |
Hop | Peronosporosis | Process foliage at intervals of 8-10 days | 4 |
Apple tree | Scab | The first irrigation at the time of bud break in the spring, between subsequent procedures take breaks of 10 days | 5 |
After spraying, harvesting can be carried out only after 15 days (apples, hops), 20 days (tomato, potatoes), 1 month (peach, grapes).
