Instructions for use of the fungicide Kolosal, consumption rates and analogues
Fungal diseases cause significant damage to agricultural crops. They reduce yields, spoil the quality of fruits, and sometimes completely destroy crops. Modern agricultural technology involves the use of antifungal drugs to protect and heal plants. Kolosal Pro is a two-component systemic fungicide used by professionals in highly productive agricultural production.

Composition, release form and purpose of the drug Kolosal Pro
The anti-fungal agent contains 2 active ingredients:
- propiconazole - 300 grams per liter, that is, 30%;
- tebuconazole - 200 grams per liter, 20%.
These substances belong to the group of triazoles - organic compounds that inhibit the synthesis of sterols in the body of fungi.
High fungicidal properties are provided by the fine dispersion of the solution - Kolosal particles do not exceed 200 nanometers.
The fungicide is produced in plastic cans with a volume of 5 and 10 liters. The developer and manufacturer of the drug is LLC "August", Russia.
Kolosal was created for industrial processing of crops in large areas from fungal infection. Applications:
- Cereals. Rust - brown, yellow, stem, dwarf. Spotting - dark brown, reticulate, striped. Powdery mildew.
- Grapes are oidium.
- Sugar beet - phomosis, cercosporosis, powdery mildew.
- Soya - ascochitis, cercospora, alternaria, septoria, anthracnose.
- Rapeseed - phomosis, powdery mildew, alternaria.
- Peas - anthracnose, rust, powdery mildew, ascochitis.
The drug is defined as a nanoemulsion, the smallest particles are easily sprayed and in a short time distributed over the tissue structures of plants.
The mechanism of action of the fungicide
Components of Kolosal Pro, which are in a state of finely dispersed suspension, rise up the conductive system of plants and are distributed over all tissues. Both active substances inhibit and stop the synthesis of ergosterol in the membranes of fungal cells. The death of fungi leads to a halt in the growth of the mycelium (mycelium in general).
Tebuconazole and propiconazole have different areas of activity. The combined action suppresses all types of pathogenic flora. For infected crops, Kolosal Pro serves as a medicine, freeing from pathogenic flora that has penetrated inside.
Propiconazole also stimulates vegetation in crops by increasing the rate of photosynthesis.
The period of protective action and the speed of exposure
2-4 hours after spraying, Kolosal spreads over tissue structures and starts to work. It stops the growth of mycelium, kills fungi that have penetrated and destroy the plant.
The activity against pathogenic flora lasts for 4-5 weeks. Falling precipitation does not affect the efficiency of Kolosal. As the temperature rises, the fungicidal properties increase.
Positive and negative sides
The unconditional advantages of the drug include:
- activity against most known fungi;
- high penetrating ability into all plant tissues;
- the speed of action and long-term activity of the drug;
- pronounced medicinal properties - removes mushrooms from completely affected crops;
- used under any weather conditions, the action covers almost the entire growing season;
- does not have an inhibitory effect on soil microorganisms.
The negative aspects of the impact and use of Kolosal Pro are:
- does not stop the formation of spores in some types of fungi, which requires repeated treatments;
- the drug is difficult to neutralize, therefore, it is not used in household conditions;
- highly toxic to bees, beneficial insects, fish;
- some types of fungal infections does not eliminate, in particular fusarium, root rot.
The drug is not used to protect seedlings, seedlings. Cereals should be pollinated before going into the tube, as it does not penetrate into the ears later.
Consumption rate for different plants
The manufacturer suggests using Kolosal in the following quantities:
Culture | Liters of preparation per hectare | Working fluid volume (liters) | Waiting time (day) |
Cereals | 0.3-0.4 | 300 | 38 |
Grapes | 0.2-0.3 | 800-1000 | 30 |
Rape | 0.5-0.6 | 200-400 | 40 |
Legumes | 0.4-0.6 | 200-400 | 40 |
Sugar beet | 0.4-0.6 | 200-400 | 30 |
The upper permissible value of the amount of fungicide is chosen if the crops are heavily infested.
How to prepare a working solution
Separately, the mother liquor is not diluted. The required volume of the drug is poured into a container half-filled with water, stirred. The remaining water is added. Stirring is also carried out during spraying.
The remaining solution is disposed of, it cannot be stored.
Application procedure
According to the instructions, the effectiveness of the fungicide application is the higher, the earlier the crops were treated - at the beginning of the spread of the fungus and on young growing crops. Application rules:
- cereals - 1 time during early growing season;
- grapes - 3-4 times, the first time - before flowering, the last - when grapes with peas;
- sugar beets, legumes, rapeseed - 1-2 times.
The crops are cultivated until the fungi have damaged the internal structures of the plants in order to prevent crop losses.
Safety rules for use
When working with a fungicide, the prescribed safety rules must be observed:
- Pour into containers on special sites (concreted, rammed earth). Removal from housing, premises for animals, pastures, water sources - 200-500 meters.
- When diluting the fungicide and spraying, use protective suits - overalls, boots, respirators, glasses, gloves.
- Wash thoroughly upon completion of work.
- The remains of the fungicide solution are disposed of with special means.
They store cans in isolated back rooms, separate from things, inventory, products.
Reference: there is no antidote for Kolosal; in case of poisoning, the usual means are used - gastric lavage, intake of adsorbents.
Possibility of emergence of resistance
The drug belongs to systemic fungicides, the development of resistance in pathogenic flora, if used correctly, is not observed.
The degree of toxicity of the fungicide
Kolosal Pro is classified as a highly hazardous class 2 drug.
Is it compatible with other products
All preparations for crop protection of the "August" company are compatible, they can be used with joint processing. Pesticides, herbicides are mixed in containers with water, Kolosal is added last.
Fungicide is not combined with concentrated alkalis or acids. After preparation of the solution, a control test for phytotoxicity is required before processing.
Storage of the drug
The fungicide in a closed factory packaging is stored in special rooms for no more than 2 years. Permissible temperature range - from -15 ° to + 35 °.
Similar means
To protect and treat different types of crops, fungicides with one or more active ingredients are used:
- PropiShans Universal. Complete analogue with the content of active ingredients in the same proportions. Manufacturer - "Agro-Alliance".
- Altazol. Manufacturer - Technoexport. Contains 2 active ingredients - propiconazole and cyproconazole. Used for cereals, sugar beets.
- Forecast. Systemic fungicide with propiconazole as an active ingredient.
- Soligor. Used for cereals. Contains 3 active ingredients. Systemic fungicide.
If the type of pathogen is determined, the fields can be treated with a fungicide of a lower spectrum of action with one active ingredient.
The use of Kolosal Pro is a reliable and proven way to protect plants and get a stable harvest. Knowledge of the rules and strict adherence to the instructions for the use of the fungicide reduces the danger of toxic effects on the land, crops and humans.
