Characteristics and description of the Kemerovets tomato variety
It is very difficult for the inhabitants of the North and the Urals to find a variety of tomatoes that would withstand the cold temperatures in summer. Tomato Kemerovets can be grown even in adverse climatic conditions.
Description of the Kemerovets tomato variety
Kemerovets tomatoes were introduced relatively recently by breeders from Western Siberia. The variety is included in the state register as a nightshade crop intended for cultivation in unfavorable climatic conditions. You can grow plants in open and closed ground.
The description of the variety is one of the main points that must be studied before purchasing seeds. Just looking at a photo of a tomato won't be enough. First of all, it should be noted that tomatoes are determinant, undersized varieties. The height of the main plant stem does not exceed 55 cm... One of the advantages of Kemerovets tomato is that it is not necessary to tie it up, and also to constantly remove side shoots.
The bushes are not leafy, the leaves are of an ordinary shape, characteristic of tomatoes. The plant belongs to varieties with an early ripening period. From the moment of planting the seeds to the reddening of the first fruits, as a rule, no more than 100-103 days pass. The harvest ripens in large quantities. You can grow a good harvest on light, nutritious soils. It is also worth noting that bushes rarely get sick with such a common disease among tomatoes as late blight.

Features of growing Kemerovets tomato in the open field
The main advantage of this variety is ease of maintenance. To obtain a good harvest in the future, it will be enough to pay special attention to growing seedlings. Care for mature bushes is minimal. Several times a week they will need to be watered and loosened around the soil and removed weeds. If necessary, 1 you can apply mineral and organic fertilizers. If the plants grow well and produce a large number of ovaries, then feeding is not necessary. In this case, they will even be superfluous.
I grow seedlings as follows:
- Before planting seeds, they must be disinfected and germinated. You can disinfect the planting material in a solution of iodine or potassium permanganate. The solution should be warm. Pour the seeds into the water and leave for 15 minutes.
- After that, you can germinate the planting material. For germination, you need natural fabric or gauze. It should be moistened. Cover the seeds and place in a warm place such as a battery. After 2 days, sprouts should appear. Such seeds can be planted in the ground.
- If the soil is taken from the garden, then it is warmed up to room temperature and only then the seeds are sown. For planting, you can also use a special vegetable substrate purchased at the store.
- Put drainage (eggshells, small pebbles, pebbles or expanded clay) on the bottom of the containers, cover it with soil and water.
- Make small depressions and plant seeds. Pour in a watering way.
- In order for the seedlings to begin to sprout faster, you can make a "greenhouse" effect. The containers are covered with glass and placed in a dark place where there is no sunlight. If you leave the boxes in the sun, you can burn all the sprouts.
- Every 3 days, the glass is removed and the ground is aired, if necessary, watered.
- When the seedlings appear, the glass is removed, and the boxes are placed in the sun.
- You can dive the bushes after the first full-fledged leaves appear on them.
You can plant seedlings in open ground at the end of May. If the spring was late, then at the beginning of June.
I planted seedlings in this way:
- Dig up the soil, mix it with manure or bird droppings;
- Plant seedlings without burying them;
- Water abundantly. You can cover it with a warm cloth at night. You will have to cover until the bushes get used to the new place and get stronger.
Tomato follow-up is standard for all varieties.
