Description of the tomato variety Sugar mouth, its characteristics and yield
Agrofirm "Mars" presented a new tomato Sugar mouth from the series "Ural summer resident". The variety is zoned for Siberia and the Urals, so it was successfully tested in the central zone of our country and has already found its first fans. The manufacturer gives the following description of the tomato:
- early maturing;
- semi-determinant (120–150 cm);
- high-yielding;
- unpretentious to weather conditions;
- universal (suitable for protected and open ground);
- fruits are round, small (80–100 g);
- the taste is pleasant, sweetish;
- suitable for fresh consumption and canning.
Growing
The Sugar Mouth tomato variety has proven to be fruitful and tolerant of cold weather. In 105-110 days after the first shoots, tomatoes begin to bear fruit together. Tomatoes are bright red in color, convenient for pickling in jars.
Seedling
The seeds of this variety are sown in late March or early April. The soil mixture is selected nutritious. You can buy a ready-made universal or specially for tomato seedlings. When making a mixture by yourself, much attention is paid to organic components. They improve the characteristics of the garden soil by adding peat, humus, compost, scalded sawdust and sand.
You can carry out pre-sowing seed preparation. To do this, the seed is soaked for 12 hours in a solution:
- sodium humate (0.01% solution);
- succinic acid (0.004% solution);
- wood ash (1 teaspoon per 1 liter of water).
Tomato seeds Sugar mouths are planted to a depth of 1 cm. After 2-3 weeks, the sprouts should release 1-2 true leaves. Such tomatoes can already be dived into individual pots with a volume of 1.5–2 liters with large drainage holes. Each sprout is slightly deepened to strengthen the root system.
Two weeks later, it is useful to feed the sugar mouth tomatoes with a humate solution or complex mineral fertilizer. If the size of the pot allows, you can add soil for 35–40 days to form additional lateral roots.
Tomatoes begin to be prepared 2-3 weeks before the planned planting in the ground. To do this, in good weather, pots with plants are taken out into fresh air, shading at first from the sun's rays. This hardening will prevent excessive stretching of the seedlings and will help to adapt more easily when planting in open ground.
Care
At the age of 60–65 days, tomato seedlings can be "relocated" to a permanent place. In the central lane, the transplant is carried out in protected ground in May, and in the open one - in early June. The day before planting, the bottom 2-3 leaves are removed. The seedlings are buried in the soil for root growth. It is useful to mulch the soil under the bushes with loose material, for example, peat or sawdust.
The bush of this variety grows up to 1.5 m in height, and requires tying to a support. According to reviews, it is better to form sugar mouth tomatoes into 2-3 stalks, removing unnecessary stepsons. When the first flower brushes appear, it is useful to treat the plants with the "Bud" preparation. 10-15 days after transplanting and then every two weeks, the plants are fed with a humate solution or any complex fertilizer for tomatoes.
Tomatoes do not tolerate an excess of moisture in the soil, especially in cool weather. Therefore, plants are watered only after the top layer of the soil dries up by 15–20 cm.
Harvest
The harvest Sugar plum ripens amicably, delighting vegetable growers with beautiful, even red tomatoes. Within a month, the bushes part with the fruits by 70-80%. During the pouring of tomatoes, watering is increased, but without excess.
The "sugar content" of the fruit may decrease with excessive moisture in the soil. There are few seed chambers in tomatoes, usually up to 4, the pulp has a rich sweet taste, especially in the presence of sunny days during ripening.
Reviews
I tried Sugar Mouth for the first time last year. I planted one small bed and was pleasantly surprised. The bushes were strewn with tomatoes all the way to the top. Basically, everyone went for a spin, the size was very suitable. I plan to plant more next season.

I have been looking for a sweet fruitful variety for canning tomato juice for a long time. Last season I discovered Sugar Mouth tomatoes. The bushes grew quite tall, a lot of tomatoes were set, despite the rainy summer. The juice turned out to be very tasty and sweet. I will continue to plant this variety.
