Instructions for the use of Topaz fungicide for processing grapes in spring and autumn and waiting times
Universal, designed for drupe, ornamental plants, vegetables and flowers, the Topaz fungicide (with instructions for use for grapes) effectively fights the mycelium of pathogenic fungi, being a prophylactic agent against pathogens. It protects grapes to a greater extent from powdery mildew and rust.
What is this drug?
One-component, consisting of the active substance penconazole, is produced
the drug "Topaz" in liquid form, in bottles of 100 ml and ampoules of 2 ml. When used in recommended doses, the drug is not phytotoxic, it poses a threat only to fungi. The rate of absorption into plant tissues is fast, the consumption is economical.
The action of the Topaz fungicide is limited to the destruction of pathogens of two types of powdery mildew - American and rust. It is harmless to other fungi, which makes it necessary to use it in combination with fungicides of other brands.
What are the pros and cons?
The active ingredient penconazole can be handled under any natural conditions. The quality of the destruction of fungi cannot be affected by temperatures above -10 ° C. In the process of spraying, the product is instantly absorbed into plant tissues, which makes it possible to use it in rainy weather. To achieve the maximum effect, it is still better to wait for dry, calm weather for processing.
Of all possible diseases "Topaz" is able to protect grapes from the most common in temperate climates:
- odium;
- powdery mildew;
- fruit rot.
The proportion of water with the active substance during preventive treatment is the same - 2 ml of the product per 10 liters of water. In case of the threat of fruit rot, the treatment of plants is carried out at a frequency of 1 every 10 days, until the fruits are fully ripe.
Oidium and powdery mildew recede, as a rule, after two planned treatments carried out with a gap of 2 weeks.
Gardeners and gardeners appreciate "Topaz" for the ability to use it at any stage of plant development, it will not make ripe fruits toxic. It can be used both as an independent tool and in combination with other means.
Application and principle of operation
Its principle of action is to block the spores of pathogenic fungi. Not being able to grow into wood, leaf, fungi die. Helps "Topaz" and the defeat of the plant by downy mildew. A prophylactic dose of the drug does not help against diseases, a medicinal solution is required for treatment, 3-4 ml of Topaz are diluted per 10 liters of water.
How to use it correctly?
The waiting time for Topaz to dissolve in water at room temperature is limited by the time of thorough mixing. Spraying the bushes is carried out in conjunction with the treatment of a soil area within the radius of the plant's root system, which is also a preventive measure against fungal spores that overwintered near the cultivated plant.
The first treatment is carried out before the buds open, the leaves appear. In the spring, the disease of the vine cannot be determined until the leaves have bloomed. Preventing fungal contamination of a seedling is always easier than treating a plant. The disease takes away the strength of the plant, which affects the taste of the grapes, the size of the harvest.
Attention! The processing of plants from 1 hectare of land takes from 1.5 to 2 liters of the dissolved agent, which depends on the height of the cultivated crops.
If the disease could not be prevented at an early stage, then the next treatment should be carried out 10 days after the first. Further, prophylactic antifungal sprays of all parts of the bush are carried out every decade, while the instructions indicate only 2 mandatory treatments - in spring (before the flowering of the bush) and in the fall (after harvesting, pruning the bush and falling leaves).
Despite the fact that the tool is not susceptible to loss of its properties during temperature extremes, a sharp cold snap, it makes no sense to use it for winter treatment of bushes.
For dormant mycelium "Topaz" is safe, because the growth of fungal spores will begin only when warm days come, and the duration of the antifungal agent will expire in 2 weeks. The recommended number of spraying of fruit trees per season is no more than 4 times. When a plant is damaged, in order to save it, a larger number of treatments are allowed.
Compatibility with other drugs
Given the very limited spectrum of action, fungicides can be used simultaneously with Topaz, which protect plants from other pathogens:
- "Cuprosatom" for late blight, circosporosis;
- "Topsinom-M" for scab, moniliosis, gray rot, anthracnose;
- "Kinmix" from pest larvae;
- "Horus" for the prevention of all fungal infections at an early stage of foliage development.
In combination with fungicides, there is no need to reduce the dosage of Topaz. Each drug will perform its function without reacting with the active components of another substance.
The peculiarity of penconazole, the active substance of a one-component agent, is that it dissolves equally well in water, alkalis, acids, without entering into a chemical reaction with such bases. This makes "Topaz" a product that can be combined with almost any dressing for grapes and other fruit and vegetable crops.
Security measures
To store powdered, bottled products or ampoules, it is necessary to set aside space in the pantry, on the top shelf, so that it does not fall into the hands of children. It should not be stored near food supplies and medicines. After using the product, the container must be disposed of so that the remnants of the product do not get into natural reservoirs and drinking water. The product in high concentration is toxic, just like its vapors.
When working with Topaz, it is necessary to observe safety precautions when working with chemical compositions:
- hands need to be protected with rubber gloves;
- respiratory tract respirator;
- eyes with closed carbonate glasses.
During spraying, there should be no people or animals nearby. When planning to work with chemicals, even such weak solutions as Topaz, you need to make sure that the first-aid kit contains activated charcoal, an anti-allergic and healing agent.
