Breeding history
Scientists are not always engaged in the selection of horticultural crops. Amateur gardeners like to experiment. So the grape variety Sensation is the fruit of the experience of V. Kapelyushny, a winegrower with great experience. On his plantation, the amateur bred the Sensation grapes back in the last century, crossing the Talisman and Rizamat varieties. The result is really sensational. In addition to excellent taste, there are many positive characteristics of the culture.
Description of the variety
For dining purposes, grapes are different:
- vigorous shoots;
- decorativeness of carved leaves of bright green color;
- the color of long berries, similar to ladies' fingers, from yellowish to pinkish;
- weight of large fruits up to 16-30 grams, and bunches from 700 grams to 1 kilogram;
- lush bunches of a conical or cylindrical shape;
- sweet taste with nutmeg aroma.
In the description of the berries, one cannot but include the unique aroma of the fruit, the meatiness and juiciness of the pulp. The Sensation variety is often confused with the Senso or Bull's Eye grapes, released in the southern regions, with dark purple berries. The variety of amateur selection differs from the Western European analogue in terms of ripening. Those ripen later, and are unstable to frost.

Among the advantages of Sensation grapes, in comparison with other types of culture, they highlight the fact that the bushes:

- reproduce by rooting cuttings;

In order for the vine to bear fruit better, the shoots are pruned on time. Do not overload the bushes, otherwise the quality of the berries will be low... They will become shallow and watery.

The main parameters of the culture include the fact that grapes are Sensation:
- ripens within 100-110 days;
- self-pollinated, as it is covered in the spring with both female and male flowers;
- has loose clusters with large elongated berries;
- fruits are well preserved and can be transported over long distances;
- Bears abundantly with berries with sweet pulp, giving off a little nutmeg.
It is not without reason that the sensation is considered the best table grape of the early maturing type.
Planting tips
A heat-loving plant needs a place well-lit by the sun.Soil for Sensation grapes is prepared in advance. Pits for seedlings are dug to a depth of 70-80 centimeters with a width of 50-60. There should be a gap of 1.5-2 meters between the holes. Be sure to pour it into the holes of fertile soil, mixing it with superphosphate (100 grams), potassium salt (50 grams).
Annual seedlings are chosen with strong roots. They are cut off, leaving a length of 15-20 centimeters. The aerial part is shortened to 2 buds.
A seedling is placed in the middle of the hole and the roots are sprinkled with nutritious soil. It is better to stick the peg right away and tie the shoot to it. Many people dig in a pipe 10 centimeters in diameter nearby. It is used for watering and feeding the bushes.
Growing and care
When planting, from 2 left buds, 2 shoots grow in a season. The stepsons, appearing on the sides, pinch over the 2-3rd leaf. New shoots should be completely broken off.
After the grapes have spent the winter under cover, the vine is pruned, leaving 2 buds on each. In the spring of the 3rd year of life, there will already be 4 vines, or sleeves. In autumn they will give 8 shoots. On each sleeve it is necessary to form 2 processes. On one, up to 12 buds are left, on the other, a replacement shoot, 2-3 buds.
The normal load on grapes is considered to be no more than 40-50 buds. This means that 10-14 are left on each sleeve. After fruiting, after 5-6 years, the sleeves need a change. It will come from 2 strong replacement shoots.
Without proper formation, grapes will not produce large and tasty bunches of berries.
Water the plants 2-3 times per summer. It is imperative to moisten the plantation in October.
Top dressing consists in the introduction of organic fertilizers in the spring, mineral fertilizers - in the fall. It is enough to add a bucket of bird droppings solution diluted in a ratio of 1:15 to the bush, 100 grams of wood ash each.
The dense soil of the vineyard needs loosening.
About diseases and pests
The sensation grape variety rarely succumbs to disease. The plant is maximally resistant to mildew and oidium. The development of fungal infections can be prevented by prophylactic treatment of bushes with fungicides: "Radomil", "Quadris".
Insecticidal products will protect the vine from pests: "Aktara", "Match".
