Characteristics and description of the tomato variety Golden Stream, its yield
The Golden Stream tomato is an ultra-early maturing, undersized and productive variety that grows well both in the greenhouse and in the open field. The variety was named because of the bright orange fruits that fall in a bunch from the top of the bush to the very ground, like a "golden stream".
Description of the variety
Spreading, determinate bush, grows up to 70 cm. Each brush can withstand up to 8 epileptic fruits weighing 80 grams. Golden orange fruits contain increased amounts of vitamin A and 5% sugar. Golden Stream is an early ripening tomato variety. The first crop with good care can be taken after 95 days.
Description of the Golden Stream tomato, its advantages:
- ultra early;
- the bush does not need shaping and pinching;
- The golden stream is immune to disease and sudden changes in temperature;
- the variety is easy to grow;
- well transported without losing its presentation;
- has constant taste;
- it is used fresh and does not lose its taste when preserved.
The first flower brush appears above the 6th leaf.
Growing features
It is recommended to grow the tomato using the seedling method. To do this, 2 months before planting on the beds, it is necessary to grow seedlings.
The prepared seeds are buried a centimeter into the nutrient soil, covered with plastic wrap, creating a micro-greenhouse, and removed to a warm place before the first shoots appear.
Seed preparation
The seed before planting in the ground must go through 4 stages of preparation:
- warming up;
- disinfection;
- processing in a root former;
- hardening.
The yield depends on the correct care of the seed.
With the appearance of three true leaves, the seedlings dive and harden by gradually lowering the air temperature. The grown seedlings are planted in nutrient soil on prepared beds according to the 50x40 scheme.
Care
Caring for tomatoes consists in watering, loosening the soil, preventing diseases, feeding and removing weeds.
Watering and loosening
The tomato bush is watered no earlier than 14 days after planting in a permanent place. Subsequent watering is carried out with warm, settled water, in the morning or evening, as the soil dries out. Tomatoes will be less sore and grow better if you add 2 pinches of wood ash to a bucket of water. Loosening is carried out after each watering.
Top dressing
The variety needs feeding at least three times per season, but to get a rich harvest, the bush is fertilized once every 10 days. Fertilizers are used complex, with a minimum nitrogen content.
Diseases and pests
The variety practically does not get sick, but there is one enemy - the Colorado potato beetle.If it is found, the tomato bush can be saved by treating it with insecticides strictly according to the instructions.
Disease prevention consists of:
- in seed treatment before sowing;
- in timely watering with warm water;
- in maintaining the temperature and humidity.
Reviews
Ekaterina, Moscow region:
“I learned about the Golden Stream from a neighbor in the country. I sowed and received two in one: delicious tomatoes and a decorative view of the site. I advise everyone to this unpretentious and high-yielding variety. "
Elena, Leningrad region:
“I read reviews about Golden Stream tomatoes and decided to grow them in open beds through seedlings. I did not expect a rich harvest in our climate, but the tomato turned out to be resistant to the changeable St. Petersburg weather and gave a generous harvest by the end of summer. I will definitely plant this miracle next year. "
The description and characteristics of the variety speaks for itself. With proper care, the yield is 4 kg per square meter.
