If you prefer to pickle cucumbers for the winter in small jars, then the Kid cucumber is ideal for this purpose. This species belongs to the so-called bush plants with fruits of the gherkin type.

The length of cucumber stalks does not exceed half a meter, fruits - no more than 10 centimeters. Crop care is the most ordinary, and the ripening time is the shortest. The variety belongs to the category of "young and early", ripening quickly. The fruits are ready to be removed from the bush after a month and a half after the first shoots appear. The cucumber itself has a dark green color and lumpy skin.

Soil requirements
The plot for the beds is dug up together with the introduction of manure (approximately a bucket per square meter). It will be useful to add a mixture of potassium salt (25 grams) and superphosphate (40 grams) to the soil, as well as a small amount of ammonium nitrate.
It is best to choose sandy loam or loamy soil for beds. You need to wait until the air temperature exceeds +15 degrees during the day, and at night, in order to avoid various misunderstandings in the form of frost, cover the beds with special fiber or film.

Harvesting and storage
A month and a half after the first shoots appear in the beds, it is time to pick cucumbers. This is usually mid-July. It was during this period that gardeners should look through the beds every day for the identification of ripe cucumbers. Intense fruiting lasts about two weeks. The harvested vegetables are stored for about ten days in a cool place so that they do not lose their properties and presentable appearance.
