Description of the Mamluk cucumber variety, its cultivation and care
It's hard to find someone who doesn't like crunchy cucumbers. When choosing seeds among the abundance of varieties, gardeners should pay attention to the Mamluk cucumber. What are its advantages?
Description of the variety
Mamluk f1 is an early maturing plant obtained by crossing several varieties. The breeders managed to combine the best qualities of the parents in this variety: high yield and immunity to diseases. The variety is resistant to peronosporiosis and cladosporiosis. And also a powerful root system is practically not affected by rot.
Medium-climbing bushes well leafy. Large leaf plates are colored deep green. The length of the central stem is 2.5 m. In the node, 1–2 ovaries are formed.
Features of the variety:
- The cucumber enters the fruiting phase 40–45 days after germination.
- The length of the ripe fruit is 10-14 cm, the diameter is 2.5-3.5 cm.

The Mamluk cucumber has a cylindrical shape familiar to the culture. The color is deep green with thin yellow stripes. The fruit is covered with short white fluff.

Features of growing and care
The seeds are placed in grooves 3-4 cm deep at an angle of 45 degrees with their nose up. It is in this position that the sprouts quickly make their way to the surface, and do not waste time unraveling and looking for light. Seeds are sown immediately after the air temperature rises to + 10– + 12 C. In the middle lane, this time comes in April - May. The crop can be sown not only in spring, but also in summer even in autumn.
In order for the description of the Mamluk cucumber to be confirmed, during the growing season, the plants carry out the following garden manipulations:
- Watering. As you know, cucumbers are very demanding on moisture. The Mamluk variety is no exception to this rule. To harvest a good crop of crispy greens, the soil in the garden must be constantly moist. In order to prevent rot, water is introduced not under the stem, but at a distance of 5–10 cm from it.
- Top dressing. During the growing season, organic solutions are introduced based on chicken manure and manure. The liquid is applied at a short distance from the stem, trying not to splash the leaves. Please note that the characteristics of the variety will be spoiled if you overfeed the bushes with nitrogen: instead of crunchy cucumbers, lush greens will form.
- Topping. The shoots are shortened so that the nutrients are directed directly only to the fruit set, and not to unnecessary processes. Lateral shoots, except for those formed at the 18,19,20 node. The remaining processes are pinched on 2-3 leaves. The center conductor is shortened after 25 knots. Manipulation will be effective only if the length of the shoots at the time of blinding does not exceed 5 cm. This pinching method prevents the ovary from shattering and increases the yield.
- Loosening and weeding. Cucumbers love to grow in loose soil, so after watering or rain, the soil is loosened. Since the root system of the plant is close to the surface, it is recommended to loosen only the aisles. A carelessly carried out manipulation ends with numerical injuries of the rhizome and the imminent death of the plant. Weeds are harmful to garden crops, so they are pulled out as they appear.
And remember, only gardeners who follow the specified technology can count on a good harvest. With poor care, the normal development of a vegetable crop cannot be expected.
